Lavista Park 30324 (Unincorporated DeKalb county) The Lavista Park neighborhood is just north of Emory University and is close to all the best intown shopping, dining, and cultural venues. The Briar Vista Shopping Center is located at the corner of Briarcliff Road and Lavista Road, and there's a very popular Whole Foods grocery store across the street. There are many other shopping districts near in the area as well, including: Loehmann's Plaza, Toco Hill Shopping Center, Cheshire Square Shopping Center, Sage Hill Shopping Center, and Emory Village. This location is also exceptionally convenient to Lenox Square Mall, Phipps Plaza, and all of the Buckhead business district featuring many of the city's finest shops, restaurants, and clubs. The Lavista Park Civic Association is active and maintains an excellent web site (lavistapark.org). In addition to Emory University, this area is very convenient to Downtown Atlanta, Midtown, Buckhead, and Downtown Decatur. Georgia Tech is also just a few minutes drive. The area is served by MARTA bus routes and is convenient to the Lindbergh rail station. This location also provides easy access to I-75/85 and GA 400. Children living in this neighborhood attend DeKalb county public schools, including Briar Vista Elementary (Pre-K through 5th grade public Montessori school); Shamrock Middle School (6-8 grades); and Druid Hills High School (a partner with Emory University in the Druid Hills Community Consortium). Also nearby are Kittredge Elementary (a public magnet school for high achievers in grades 4-6), DeKalb School of the Arts (a public high school combining academic subjects and performing arts); The Frazer Center (private infants - kindergarten); Waldorf School of Atlanta (private pk-8); The Paideia School (private pk-12); and The Ben Franklin Academy (private high school for ages 15-18), as well as a number of religious private schools.
